Mintimer Shaymiev met the President of the Islamic Development Bank

Late at night on 19 May the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaymiev had a talk with the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Mr. Ahmad Mukhamed Ali.

After the meeting the head of the Islamic Development Bank said to journalists that one of the issus discussed was the possible holding of an international investment conference under the aegis of IDB in Kazan. Such conference would give the businessmen of the Arabic world the opportunity to learn nearer about Tatarstan people and their way of living. “We also discussed, at large, the ways how the relations between Tatarstan and Islamic Development Bank can be developed, how to make the businessmen of the Islamic world interested investing in various projects in Tatarstan” – added Ahmad Ali.
