Gasprom to apportion 670 million rubles to complete 100% gasification of Tatarstan

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev has received the chairman of JSC Gasprom Board of Directors Aleksey Miller at his official residence in Kazan Kremlin on May 29. Issues concerning development of gasification in Tatarstan and cooperation of the largest gas company with petrochemical enterprises of the republic were discussed on the meeting.

JSC Gasprom delegation includes the head of the Department on work with RF regions – member of the company’s Board of Directors Viktor Ilyushin, President of SIBUR Ltd Dmitriy Konov, Director General of Tattransgas Ltd Rafkat Kantyukov. Tatarstan was represented by RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov, the first Vice-Premier – Minister of Economy and Industry Boris Pavlov, State Councilor to RT President on economic issues Marat Safiullin, Director General of JSC TAIF Albert Shigabutdinov, Director General of JSC Tatgasinvest Rinat Khanbikov and others.

Aleksey Miller indicated in an interview to journalists that the range of issues discussed on the meeting was very extensive. “Tatarstan is a favourable republic on the map of Russia, - he said. – The level of gasification in the republic is 92%, which is much higher than in Russia in general”.

“We came to an agreement that we will apportion 670 million rubles for two years within the framework of completing 100% gasification of RT, - A. Miller informed journalists. – We will be able to say that Tatarstan is a first unit in the Russian Federation where gasification program is complete. For certain, it is possible thanks to close collaboration and understanding of the republican authorities”.

Besides, according to his words, issues of cooperation in the field of petrochemistry – supply of raw materials from Gasprom enterprises to Tatarstan petrochemical enterprises, long-term supply to Kazanorgsintez were discussed on the meeting; new forms of cooperation were considered. “We see very good perspectives here,” the head of Gasprom declared.

“I think we will continue development based on market demands, particularly in the field of different products of petrochemistry, - Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev emphasized. – I think we will manage to do a lot of things in a short period of time”.
