Tatarstan and Saxony continue to develop mutually beneficial cooperation

RT President Mintimer Shaimiev has received in his official residence in Kazan Kremlin the delegacy from Free State of Saxony, headed by Saxony vice Prime Minister, State Minister for Economic Affairs and Labour Thomas Jurk .

Saxony delegacy consists of the member of Saxony Landtag Ms Simone Raats, the head of Bautsen region Michael Harig, the president of Saxony Union of businessmen Harmut Bunzen, and other. Tatarstan was presented by RT first vice Prime Minister, Minister of economy and industry Boris Pavlov, RT President’s state councilor on international questions, director of international connections’ department Timur Akulov, RT Minister of trade and internal economical cooperation Hafiz Salikhov, and others.

“I am glad to see you again”, greeted RT President Mintimer Shaimiev the members of Saxony delegacy. Last year in May Saxony Prime Minister George Milbradt visited Tatarstan. And this year in March Tatarstan president visited Saxony. “I have great memories about my visit to Saxony. We still admire your achievements”, said the head of the republic to the foreign guests. He underlined that huge industries, especially machine building industries, are concentrated on rather small territory of Saxony.

Tatarstan President thanked Thomas Jurk for an opportunity to open an exhibition “Z-2007” during the famous fair in Leipzig. The exhibition, having presented about 900 European companies, caused a great interest. During one day 30 enterprises from the republic were studied by the representatives form more than 300 companies form Germany and other European countries.

The successes of Saxony scientists in the area of bio- and nanotechnologies caused a great interest too. The President is satisfied with the agreement between Kazan state University and Leipzig University.

After the meting Mintimer Shaimiev and Thomas Jurk answered the journalists’ questions. “We have good cooperation in many areas, - said Tatarstan President. – It is very important that we have good mutual understanding and a desire to cooperate”. He also pointed out that he appreciates “business grasp and punctuality of Germanic friends”.

“The visit of our delegacy to Tatarstan is the continuation of cooperation, - pointed out Thomas Jurk. – For us it is a very important step of the program we plan and realize. The interest of Saxony economy to Tatarstan enterprises is very high”. Vice Prime Minister of Saxony also underlined that there is wonderful political preconditions for mutually beneficial economic cooperation. He meant mutual understanding between Tatarstan President and Saxony Prime Minister.
