Mintimer Shaimiev, ‘Our Institute of Applied Optics holds a worthy position’

Scientific-practical conference “Innovations – main line of optics branch development” has been held on June 7 in Kazan. It was devoted to the 50th anniversary of FGUP NPO State Institute of Applied Optics. RT President Mintimer Shaimiev has taken part in the conference.

“The fact that you managed to preserve the institute is a high achievement, - the head of the republic noted in his greeting speech to the scientific institution staff. – I haven’t seen so much intellect and devotion to work before”. Mintimer Shaimiev emphasized that he painfully perceived negative events that took place in the beginning of 90’s in Russian science and pointed out that “Kazan institute managed to preserve its scientific potential and basis”.

“Russia cannot be a weak country. We haven’t got used to be weak and yield to someone, - RT President declared. – History teaches us that we must know how to defend. You preserved the enterprise and made great contribution to the country”. The head of the republic also pointed out the fact that the institute is one of the few institutions that conduct research in nanotechnologies.

“Our institute of applied optics holds a worthy position in this industrial branch. We can be proud of your labor and success. All you do deserve respect”, Mintimer Shaimiev concluded. He announced that the staff of FGUP NPO State Institute of Applied Optics received Gratifying Letter of Tatarstan President.

Deputy Chairman of RT State Council, Alexander Gusev, Mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin, President of RT Sciences Academy, Ahmet Mazgarov also attended this event.
