Tatarstan President observed horse race dedicated to holiday Sabantuy

The last activity of national holiday Sabantuy, having taken place in Tatarstan capital on June 23, became the horse race in International Horse and Sport Complex Kazan. RT President Mintimer Shaimiev observed it.

The head of RT President’s Apparatus Yuri Kamaltinov, Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin, the head of city executive committee Marat Zagidullov, the deputies of RT State Council and the participants of the Organization of World Heritage Cities IX Congress were among the high guests.

Having arrived at International Horse and Sport Complex Kazan, RT President Mintimer Shaimiev communicated with the citizens of Kazan and the guests of the capital who came to observe the horse race. The visitors were attracted not only by thoroughbred horses but interesting entertainment program: holiday concert, and children’s grounds with trampolines, high dolls, mini zoo. Those who wanted could drive a horse or to by articles, dedicated to the horses. Those articles were made by the children form children’s houses.

The program of the racing day includes 5 rounds and 4 gallops with prize fund of more than 1 million rubbles. Out of program there were announced RT President’s prizes.

The first were the round of 4-year-old trotters on the distance 1800 meters with the prize fund “In honor of RT horsemen” (100,000 rubbles). For the prize of “RT grin-grower” (120,000) were fighting older trotters on the distance 2400 meters. There were also prizes “Golden Field” (among the trotters of three-year-old), “Prize in memory of Habibullin” (the oldest trotters), prize Nasima (among Arab runners), and the prize of holiday Sabantuy (among thoroughbred horses of three years and older). The biggest prize was given by Kazan city Administration (150 thousand rubbles). Thoroughbred three-year-old horses were fighting for it on the distance of 2400 meters.
