On June 29 Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the session of RF State Council, which took place in Rostov-on-Don under the chairmanship of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The heads of Kalmykia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karelia, the governors of Sverdlovsk, Tomsk, Tulsk, and other regions also took part in the session. According to the decree of RF President, the session was dedicated to “the preventive measures against violence and providing social safety in RF”.
State Council is a deliberative body, the chairman of which is RF President and the members of which are the heads of RF subjects. Last session was in 2006, December 26. In 2007 the main body of State Council – Presidium – was gathered four times.
The members of the session saw the security system “Safety city”, which consists of all-Russian dactyloscopic system “Papillon” and navigational system “Agro-Stazh”, which allows determining the exact place of patrol crew and putting its coordinates on the electronic map in the situational centre. It also consists of the system “Potok”, which allows finding stolen cars in the traffic stream.
On the 30th of June the members of the Council will take part in the horse races for RF President’s prize. Venezuela President Hugo Chaves, visiting Russia, is also invited. Traditionally there also will be the heads of CIS.
For the first time horse races for RF President’s prize took place on the 3rd of July 2004 in Moscow. Then they took place in International horse and sport complex in Kazan. Earlier in Russia such activities were held only before Revolution. Last time Emperor’s prize was raffled off in 1916.
