Mintimer Shaimiev met with the President of Islamic Academy of Science

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev received the President of Islamic Academy of Science Abdusalyam Madjali in Kazan Kremlin.

The president of Islamic Academy of science heads the delegacy of IAS, which visits Kazan these days. On July 5 Mr Madjali met with RT Chairman of State Council Farid Moukhametshin. The day before he took part in RT International educational, science and new technologies symposium, which was held in Tatarstan Academy of Science.

During the meeting Mintimer Shaimiev pointed out that after Russia had taken parting IAS summit in Malaysia, many things in our country changed for mutual understanding among the representatives of different confessions. “Today we have all opportunities to make contacts with Islamic world in all spheres, - expressed his opinion Tatarstan President. – I would say that now it depends more on Russia’s regions, their heads and managers, social and other organizations”. Mintimer Shaimiev told about existing and developing connections between our Republic and Islamic Conference Organization, Islamic Bank for Development, Islamic Conference Youth Forum “For dialogue and Cooperation”, and some other social Institutes of Islamic World.

Tatarstan head reminded about three sessions of strategic vision’s groups “Russia – Islamic world”, which took place in Moscow, Istanbul and Kazan. According to him, this organ, providing widening of the dialogue between Islamic world and our country and including people, who had been before high officials, is able to solve some important questions. Mintimer Shaimiev pointed out that during last years he visited some Middle East states. Once he was a member of Vladimir Putin delegacy. ‘I ought to say that there a huge desire to cooperation with our region in different areas. And we are very grateful for this”, underlined Tatarstan leader.

Director general of IAS (Jordan) Monif Zubi, vice president of IAS Ahmet Morakchi (Tunis), secretary general of IAS Mehmet Ergin (Turkey), academician of IAS, the USSR ex minister of chemical and oil industry Salambek Hadzhiev (Chechnya), RT President’s State Councilor on political questions, Raphael Hakimov, Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin, RT President of Academy of Science Akhmet Mazgarov and others took part in the meeting.
