Mintimer Shaimiev and Andrew Fursenko took part in the work of II District venture fair

On July 11 in Kazan hotel complex Korston has been opened II District venture fair. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev and RF Minister of Education and Science Andrew Fursenko have taken part in the opening ceremony of the fair, which has been held under the motto “Kazan is a territory of new opportunities”.

Venture fair is so called communicational ground, where foreign and native investors can get to know more about innovation technologies of small and middle business’ enterprises, to set mutually profitable contacts with them. Organizers of this event are RT Investment and Venture fund and technical park Idea with the support of Russian organization of direct and venture investment, and Federal Agency of Science and Innovations.

This year fair presents more than 50 innovation companies of small and middle business, which demonstrate unique products and technologies. About 80 percent of participants registered on the territory of RT. Besides the stands from high technical companies from Kirov, Ufa, Tomsk, Kaliningrad, Taganrog, Moscow and Saint-Petersburg are presented in exposition. The number of applicants was twice more than the number of participants, chosen by the jury.

Opening the event Mintimer Shaimiev has pointed out that today’s even shows the success of the previous venture fair, which took place in Tatarstan in June, 2005. “So we have a necessity to gather again and again to fulfill these meetings with new sense”, he underlined. The head of the republic has mentioned one of the key tasks – developing and inserting into life high technologies. “The country came out from the crises. We not only overcame it we also understood the meaning of being able to compete”, said Mintimer Shaimiev.

Tatarstan President added that the republic was the first in the country, which paid attention to this problem. Last years they created technical parks and scientific centers. “Among them there is almost no bad working, because different people of all ages come there”, finished his speech Mintimer Shaimiev.

Andrew Fursenko has pointed out: “We have been talking about science for a long time, we have been talking that we have to survive and to develop. This period finished – we have to think about development; we have all opportunities for this’. According to him, Kazan and Tatarstan know how realize intellectual potential. “Such grounds are important not only by reports but by cooperation of inventors and investors”, said Andrew Fursenko.

After studying of exposition Tatarstan head and Federal Minister have taken active part in the work of conference, where there has been held a presentation of RT Forming Strategy of investment appeal.
