Mintimer Shaimiev met with chairman of RF Pension Fund Board Gennady Batanov

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev has met with the chairman of Russian Pension Fund Gennady Batanov at official residence in Kazan Kremlin. Perspectives of further cooperation between RF Pension Fund and the republic, and also the Year of Charity in RT have been discussed on the meeting.

The following officials have taken part in the meeting: RT Premier Rustam Minnikhanov, RT State Council Chairman Farid Moukhametshin, State councilor under RT President on social issues Tatiana Larionova, RT Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Protection Airat Shafigullin, manager of RF Pension Fund in RT Marsel Imamov.

Department of RF Pension Fund in RT is one of the largest in the system of pension funds: 44 boards of RF Pension Fund in cities and districts, 7 departments, 12 inter-district units. According to RF Pension Fund data, Tatarstan has high level of demographic old age. Ageing coefficient of the population in 2005 made up 16.82%, which is 0.35% lower than all-Russian level.

12 indexations of pensions have been carried out in accordance with RT pension laws. As a result, the size of average pension increased from 1065 rubles to 2928.7 rubles. It is envisaged that average pension will reach 2977 rubles by the end of this year. Expenses for all pensions and other social payments will make up 40.1 billion rubles in accordance with the department budget.
