Meeting of Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev with members of the Council on Public Health of the Eurasian Economic Community has been held in Kazan Kremlin on July 26. The session of the Council has started in Kazan at the same day. It finishes on July 27 at Inter-regional Clinical-Diagnostic Centre.
The following delegation members of the Council have attended the meeting: deputy Secretary General of EuroAsEC Serek Primbetov, the head of the organization Rospotrebnadzor of RF Gennadiy Onischenko, Minister of Public Health of the Republic of Belarus Vasiliy Zharko, Public Health Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Anatoliy Dernovoy, the first deputy Public Health Minister of the Republic of Tadjikistan Nusratullo Salimov, the first deputy Health Minister of Uzbekistan Abdukhakim Khajibaev, deputy Health Minister of Kyrgyzstan Republic Madamin Karataev, and deputy Director of the Department of Social Development and Environment Protection under RF Government Ramil Khabriev. RT bodies of state power were represented by Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov, State councilor under RT President on international issues – Director of the Department on International Contacts Timur Akulov, State councilor under RT President on social issues Tatyana Larionova and RT Minister of Public Health Kamil Ziyatdinov.
At the beginning of the meeting Mintimer Shaimiev familiarized guests with social policy of Tatarstan. He informed about the Year of Charity in RT, forms and methods of organizing charity events. The head of the republic indicated that it was decided on state level not to establish any charity funds (which usually alienate charity men), but to organize work without any mediators. He emphasized that particular role on information distribution belongs to mass media. According to RT President’s words, not only merciful people, but also enterprises and organizations of the republic have taken an active part in charity. For example, officials of different ministries apportioned a part of their salary for purchase of wheel-chairs for the needy.
