Mintimer Shaimiev opened European Field Hockey Championship Challenge I in Kazan

September 9, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the opening ceremony of the RT Field Hockey Centre and the European Field Hockey Championship Challenge I among men’s national teams.
RT Prime Minister and Chairman of the tournament organizing committee Rustam Minnikhanov, Chief of Staff of the RT President Yury Kamaltynov, heads of ministries and departments, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and other officials also attended the event. The decision to hold the European Championship in the Tatarstan capital was taken by the heads of the International Hockey Federation. The federation took into account old traditions of this sport in Tatarstan and high achievements of Kazan team Dinamo in Russian championships.
