Tatarstan leadership takes foodstuffs prices under close control

October 12, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev held a meeting in the Kazan Kremlin about the situation in the country’s foodstuffs market.
RT Prime-minister Rustam Minnikhanov, Chief-of-staff of the RT President Yuri Kamaltynov, RT First Vice Premier Ravil Muratov, RT State Council Deputy Chairman Aleksander Gusev, heads of ministries and institutions, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, RF State Duma deputies Airat Khairullin and Rinat Gubaidullin, heads of large agriholdings of the republic attended the meeting.
Opening the meeting, the head of Tatarstan said that foodstuff prices increase countrywide is conditioned by external factors. Mintimer Shaimiev also noted that Tatarstan had been distinguished by the lowest cost of foodstuffs through years.
The President instructed the participants of the meeting to take urgent measures to prevent a further increase in prices.
