Mintimer Shaimiev is visiting Naberezhnye Chelny

October 31, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev is making a business trip to Naberezhnye Chelny. The first place he visited was the Sports and Health complex ‘United Russia’ built on the United Russia party’s initiative within the framework of the federal task programme “Development of the physical culture and sports in the RF in 2006-2015”.

Construction of more than 300 sport venues was launched on November 1, 2005 when a respective decision was adopted by the party Higher Council.

Mintimer Shaimiev examined the Sports and Health complex and spoke to young hockey players and figure skaters. He also attended the presentation of the 60th microdistrict ‘Raduzhnyi’. It is a well-planned district with a sports complex, nine playgrounds, pathways and bicycle lanes.

Later on, Mintimer Shaimiev visited the trade and entertainment complex “Trade quarter”, which is home to a movie thetre with 8 showing rooms, stores, cafes and restaurants. On 3rd floor the guests saw a presentation of the concept of the unified suburban zone of Naberezhnye Chelny and construction of new districts by 2010-2020.

Chief of Staff of the President Yuri Kamaltynov and Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny Ildar Khalikov accompanied the head of the republic.
