Tatarstan President met with Iran’s Foreign Minister

December 14, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev met with Mr. Manouchehr Mottaki, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the Kazan Kremlin. The RT President said Mr. Minister’s visit to Tatarstan was part of his visit to the Russian Federation, during which the parties hold very successful talks.
After a lengthy conversation, in the presence of the members of the Iranian delegation and Tatarstan officials who were waiting for them in the Negotiation Room Mintimer Shaimiev and Manouchehr Mottaki exchanged the words of gratitude for the constructive conversation they had had. The RT President congratulated the Foreign Minister on the successful talks they had conducted in Moscow. “We are pleased to note that there is understanding between Russian and Iran in both policy and economy. What the current President of the Islamic Republic of Iran has been doing has shown to the whole world how important the voice of Iran is on the world political arena. We can see that your position is being supported throughout the world”, the President said.
