Among the carefully maintained Muslim traditions are respect to older people, care about one’s neighbours and bringing up children in devotion. The coming year of 2008 has been announced the Year of Family, and I believe that the Muslims of Russia will take a proactive part in succeeding in the national task of consolidating the importance of the family and basic family values in our society. May Eid al-Adha bring happiness and joy to everyone’s home”, reads the telegram by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.
