Mintimer Shaimiev: work of district militia officers determines people’s trust in militia

January 18, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev attended the meeting of the board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Tatarstan that was convened to discuss the results of the work of the Tatarstan internal affairs bodies in 2007.
RT State Council Chairman Farid Mukhametshin, First Deputy Prime-minister Ravil Muratov, Internal Affairs Minister Asgat Safarov and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin took part in the meeting.
In his speech Mintimer Shaimiev emphasized the necessity of further improvement of the material and technical basis of the service of district militia officers, as well as of providing assistance in resolving their social issues. “The issue of district militia officers should always be in the highlight. Their work determines the efficiency of crime prevention and people’s trust in militia. It is an important link in our work”, the RT President said.
Mintimer Shaimiev also said that next year it is necessary to continue fight against organized crime, crime in public places and corruption in all spheres.
