Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev met with Russian Industry and Energy Minister Denis Manturov

March 17, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev met with Deputy Minister of Industry and Energy of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, Head of the Federal Agency for Industry of the Russian Federation Andrei Dutov and Director General of OAO "United Industrial Corporation Oboronprom" Andrei Reus.

During the meeting they discussed issues of development of industrial companies of the republic such as PO Plant named after Sergo, JSC Kazan Helicopters, KAPO Named after Gorbunov, Kazan gunpowder plant, FGUP Kazan precision engineering plant, etc.

Marking the effective growth of industrial production in the republic in recent years, Mintimer Shaimiev said that the most important task is preparation of technical manpower that would meet today’s requirements. In this regard, he said a educational cluster had been created in Tatarstan directly linking secondary and higher educational establishments with industrial enterprises. The participants of the meetings also focused on the prospects of integration of science and industrial production taking into account the activities of the above-mentioned companies.

Finishing the meeting, the head of Tatarstan thanked the representatives of the federal government for the active and fruitful cooperation, underlined that the federal and republican government bodies share the same tasks and objectives. "We have a common cause aimed at further consolidation of defence capacity of the Russian Federation".

Tatarstan Prime-minister Rustam Minnikhanov and other officials also attended the meeting.
