Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the King Faisal International Prize

In the evening of March 9, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, attended the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the King Faisal International Prize. At the dinner, the President of the republic of Tatarstan met with King of Saudi Arabia Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud.
The King Faisal International Prize is a kind of a Nobel Prize for the Islamic world. The King Faisal Foundation awards prizes in: Service to Islam; Islamic studies; Arabic Language and literature; Science; Medicine. As many as 196 from 138 countries became laureates of the prize over 30 years.
Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev is the first Russian who was awarded the prize.
