Tatarstan President lays flowers to the Eternal Fire and Mourner mothers and widows monument

May 9, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev laid flowers to the eternal flame and the monument to mourning mothers and widows in the Park of Victory.

The head of the republic was accompanied by RT State Council Chairman Farid Mukhametshin, RT Prime-minister Rustam Minnikhanov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, RT Labor, Employment and Social Protection Minister Airat Shafigullin, etc.
Officials and veterans of the Great Patriotic War, accompanied by the guard of honor, came to the Eternal Flame to a sound of military orchestra. All honored guests had symbols of the Great Victory – St. George Ribbon.
Mintimer Shaimiev laid a wreath of carnations of colours of the Tatarstan flag to the Eternal Flame of the Glory Memorial. Farid Mukhametshin, Rustam Minnikhanov and Ilsur Metshin laid flowers to the Eternal Flame.

Then guard of honour and guests have moved to Mourner mothers and widows Monument, where they also have laid flowers.

About 59 thousand veterans of the Great Patriotic War live nowadays in Tatarstan.
