Mintimer Shaimiev: Positive experience of Charity Year carried over Year of Family

A session of the Republican Council on charity activity took place at Kazan Kremlin On May 15. The RT President Mintimer Shaimiev took part in it.

Opening the session, Mintimer Shaimiev pointed out that long-expected rain came to the republic on International Family Day. “During all April and first half of May there was no rain in Tatarstan. We worried a lot. We would like the Supreme Being supports labor of a person, who works on the land. It is very good that it is raining now”, RT President underlined.

“Last year we started Year of Family. This year continued successful Year of Charity”, the head of the republic said. Tatarstan President indicated that during Year of Charity they did a lot; and positive experience is successfully used in the Year of Family.

Last two years social orientation in public policy of Russia is obvious. RT President attracted people’s attention at the fact that during first days of his Presidential term Dmitry Medvedev appealed to social area and RF Prime Minister Vladimir Putin told about necessity to strengthen social policy. Mintimer Shaimiev pointed out that social measures in Tatarstan republic cover more and more categories of citizens.

According to the head of the republic, result of the active social policy is improvement of demographic situation. “Due to our country is out of crises, people are sure in future. And it is very important. Our task is to create conditions and to support materially. Every person must feel public care”, Tatarstan President underlined. He thanked all members of the Council for an active work and understanding. And he underlined that they shouldn’t stop and that it is necessary to move forward.

The Chairman of RT State Council Farid Moukhametshin, RT first vice Prime Minister Ravil Muratov, deputies of RT State Council and heads of Ministries and departments took part in the session too.
