June 2, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev gave his voice to the Kazan Kremlin in the contest "Seven Wonders of Russia". The voting took place before the closing ceremony of the 4th International Children's National Dance Festival "Schastlivoe detchtvo" (Happy childhood) that was held in Kazan State University's convention centre "UNICS". All guests of the festival were invited to vote for the architectural complex of the Kazan Kremlin with the Annunciation Cathedral and the Kul Sharif Mosque.
The deputy minister of youth affairs, sport and tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan, Anatoly Berezinskiy, said that voting in Kazan was arranged in a way that the number of votes would continuously grow. Last November, the Kazan Kremlin occupied the 15th position in the rating, in December it became the 12th, then 10th in March and thanks to students of the republic the Kazan Kremlin managed to become first on the list of bidders to enter the list of 7 seven wonders of our country.
The President of Tatarstan was offered to take part in the Internet voting at www.vsled.ru where he gave his voice to the Kazan Kremlin and 6 other sites bidding to enter the list of 7 wonders of Russia (according to the rules, one should choose 7 candidates to become "Wonders of Russia").
The President called upon for all citizens of the republic to take an active part in the voting for the Kazan Kremlin.
