Mintimer Shaimiev met with Azerbaijani Prime-minister Artur Rasizade

The President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, met with the Prime-minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Artur Tair ogly Rasizade, in the Kazan Kremlin on June 17.

"I welcome the delegation of the brotherly Republic of Azerbaijan to the land of Tatarstan. We highly value our cooperation with Azerbaijan. We should keep strengthening and deepening our economic and cultural contacts," the RT President said greeting the guests.

According to the head of the republic, the structure of economies of Tatarstan and Azerbaijan is similar. When the development of Tatarstan’s oil deposits started, our oilmen learned a lot from Azerbaijani oilmen. Nowadays, Tatarstan oilmen have become trendsetters in many ways. To develop old oil fields, high technologies and skills are required, and in this area the mutually beneficial exchange of experience between the republics is possible.

On the side of the Republic of Azerbaijan attending the meeting were the First Deputy Prime-minister, Yagub Abdulla ogly Zyubov, the Chief of Staff of the Cabinet of Ministers, Aga Bala Shamkhal ogly Gadzhiev, the Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary to the Russian Federation, Polad Byul-Byul oglu. Prime-minister Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Prime-minister - Minister of Culture Zilya Valeyeva, State Adviser to the RT President on economic issues Evgeniy Grishin, Minister Industry and Trade Aleksander Kogogin took part in the meeting on the side of the Republic of Tatarstan.
