Mintimer Shaimiev congratulated state security servicemen on with the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the service

On July 1st, cultural-entertainment complex “The Pyramid” served as a venue for celebration of the 90th anniversary of establishment of state security service in the Republic of Tatarstan. RT President Mintimer Shaimiev congratulated the servicemen of the special services.

On behalf of the State Council and the government of the Republic Mintimer Shaimiev congratulated servicemen of the state security agencies with the 90th anniversary of establishing of the service and expressed gratitude for their work. “Your service is very important for life, history and state of the state, - stated the head of the Republic. – After the revolution of 1917 the state and the government weaker, previously established orderliness comes to its end and only thanks to your service, together with armed forces, the country was preserved from disintegration under the influence of external and internal threats. Your agency was formed to re-establish the order and preserve it in the times of crises”.

RT President underlined that the veterans of the service – those who sincerely served the country when the first government was formed, during and after the World War II – must be always remembered.

“I want to say words of thanks to your wives and your loved ones. They show patience, love and devotion when you serve. Thank you ”, - said Mintimer Shaimiev.

RT President expressed the feeling of satisfaction with the fact that all heads of Tatarstan security services have been working in the republic for long periods of time, which means they are capable of finding common language with local authorities at the same time getting their job done to satisfaction of the federal authorities. “Respected leadership is a good sign. This is earned by their and your efforts. May it continue being the same in the future as well”, - he stated.

Currently the state security service is significantly different from past times, stated the head of the Republic. Once our country turned towards the democratic path of growth, the task of the servicemen is to carry out their responsibilities with respect towards constitutional rights of the individual and his individual liberties. “Your service has special significance during the stage of economic transition, establishment of new conditions of social and political life. Most important is serving the people who have constitutional rights, human rights are coming to the first place”, - underlined President of the Republic.

The head of Tatarstan stressed the importance of providing for new working conditions of the state security servicemen. “We will build a new building, in the very center of the city, provide you with housing and all necessary help”, - promised RT President.

Deputy head of Russian Federal Security Service department for the Republic of Tatarstan, colonel Oleg Nazarov and retired colonel Albert Gardanov received letters of appreciation of the RT President.
