Igor Levitin, President of the Russian Table Tennis Federation, sent the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, a letter of congratulations, which included the following lines:

“On July 11, 2008, the Director of the European Table Tennis Federation made the decision, during a meeting in Terni, Italy, of giving Kazan the right to hold the 2011 European Championship among juniors, which will include over 1500 players from 57 countries.

The Ministry for Youth Affairs and Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Table Tennis Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan, along with the Russian Table Tennis Federation, delivered a brilliant presentation on Kazan.”
