A Law Signed in the Republic of Tatarstan
On July 21, 2008, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, M.Sh. Shaimiev, signed a Law of the Republic of Tatarstan on the “Amendment of the Republic of Tatarstan Law ‘On transportation tax’”.
According to the Tax Code of the Russian Federation, the law increased, starting January 1, 2009, transportation tax for all means of transportation, excluding light vehicles with a power output of an engine less than 100 horsepower, registered for individuals, and motor transport, for which the tax rate did not change.
In addition, minors who have been prisoners of concentration camps, ghettos, and other locations of forced containment created by fascists and their allies during World War II, are completely exempts from paying this tax.
