Rashid Nurgaliev and Mintimer Shaimiev Inspected the Video-Monitoring Centre of the RF Road Police in RT

RF Minister of Internal Affairs, Rashid Nurgaliev, is continuing his working trip in Kazan. On the morning of July 30th, the head of the RF Ministry of Internal Affairs and RT President, Mintimer Shaimiev, paid a visit to the Video-monitoring centre of the RF Road Police in RT and the stationary police post “Kol’tso”.

The centre is located in the building of Russian Federation Road Police in Republic of Tatarstan. The centre also monitors road traffic in Kazan, handling of the stoplights during special events. It also houses a dispatch centre for transportation evacuation and a centre for processing certain videos that capture traffic violations.

Towards the end of 2008, Kazan will have 140 traffic cameras working. Currently, 20 portable cameras capturing traffic violations are at the possession of traffic police patrol. The cameras automatically record traffic violations, which include speed limit violations, passing a red light, and crossing to the opposite lane.

Rashid Nurgaliev’s next point in the program was the participation in a meeting with directors of the State Executive Boards of the RF Federal Okrug of Provolzhye subjects to discuss issues concerning traffic safety at the Cabinet of Ministers of RT.
