Dmitry Medvedev has arrived in Kazan

The President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, arrived at the Kazan River Port on the motor-ship Rossija on August 7. The head of Russia with spouse were met by Mintimer Shaimiev, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Grigory Rapota, the Plenipotentiary Envoy of the Russian President in the Volga Federal District.
In the republic, Dmitry Medvedev had a bilateral meeting with the Tatarstan President in the Kazan Kremlin, where he was also shown the presentation of the 27th World Summer Universiade of 2013.
The head of state's programme also includes a visit to the Raifa Monastery.

On 6 June the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev laid flowers to the monument of the Great Russian poet Aleksandr Pushkin by the Jalil State Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan.
