Kazanorgsintez celebrates 50th anniversary

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the events devoted to the 50th anniversary of OAO Kazanorgsintez, one of the leaders in petrochemical industry of Tatarstan and Russia, which also celebrates the 45th anniversary of the production launch.

RT Prime-minister Rustam Minnikhanov, Industry and Trade Minister Aleksander Kogogin, Director General of OAO Tatneft Shafagat Takhautdinov, Director General of OAO TAIF Albert Shigabutdinov, Director General of OAO Kazanorgsintez Leonid Alekhin, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Senior Councilor of the board of Mitsui Takehiro Togo.

At Kazanorgsintez, the head of the republic examined the only Russian and CIS bisphenol A plant with a capacity of 70 thousand tons a year and the polycarbonate plant with a capacity of 165 thousand tons a year, which is also unparalleled in the CIS.

"Dear workers of OAO Kazanorgsintez! Today's holiday is for you and for all the republic. It is symbolic that the founder of organic chemistry Butlerov lived and worked in Kazan and the chemical giant Kazanorgsintez appeared on the soil of Tatarstan," Mintimer Shaimiev said at the meeting. The Tatarstan President thanked all veterans and workers of the enterprise who made their contribution to its construction and development.
