Mintimer Shaimiev is visiting Aznakaevo

October 2, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev is visiting the Aznakaevo district, Tatarstan. The head of the republic will take part in the meeting of the representative body of the Aznakaevo municipal district.

Only one issue - election of head of the Aznakaevo municipal district - was on the agenda of the district council. The Tatarstan President nominated Rafis Galeyev for election, and the candidate was approved.

At the meeting, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev made some important statements related to Tatarstan's social sphere.

He said that now due to the global financial crisis housing built in Russia and Tatarstan in 2008 is not in high demand. Mortgage interest has grown having reached 14-16 percent per annum. It will affect housing construction rates in Russia in its turn in the future.

"Terms of the social mortgage in Tatarstan will not be changed. We will continue to maintain the interest rate at 7 percent a year for 27.5 years," Mintimer Shaimiev emphasized. He also said that the social mortgage is important to workers of the social sphere, residents of rural areas and young families. And it is very important to ensure that conditions of the social mortgage are not getting tougher.
