First in CIS combined ammonia and methanol production unit to be constructed in Tatarstan

October 17, a ceremony of laying a capsule in the foundation of the ammonia, methanol and granulated carbamide production units is taking place in the Mendeleyevsk municipal district. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev and Vneshekonombank Chairman Vladimir Dmitriev are taking part in the event.

The project "Construction of the new integrated complex for production of ammonia, methanol, granulated carbamide and ammoniac saltpeter" will be implemented on the basis of the operating industrial complex belonging to OAO "Ammoniy". The best world technologies and state-of-the-art equipment of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (Japan) will be used in the complex. It is to result in the first in the CIS and second in the world combined ammonia and methanol complex.

The launch of the complex is planned for the first quarter of 2012.
