Meeting with heads of Tatarstan’s large enterprises

October 20, Mintimer Shaimiev, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, held a meeting with heads of large enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan at the Kazan Kremlin.

Rustam Minnikhanov, the Prime-minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Farid Mukhametshin, the Chairman of the RT State Council, heads of ministers and other institutions are taking part in the meeting.

At the meeting with the Tatarstan business elite, the RT President said that in consequence of the global financial crisis intensive consultations with bank representatives and financial officers of other institutions, commodity producers had been held in the Kazan Kremlin, in the RT Government. The main issue on the agenda at those meetings was how to preserve stability in these conditions.

The head of the republic emphasized that that rates of the population income growth stipulated in the 3-year draft budget statement should be kept unchanged. For this, it is necessary to ensure that all Tatarstan’s community producers work stably. “The crisis should not affect life quality of the people. It is a matter of principle for us,” Mintimer Shaimiev said.

He went on to say that all social programmes that are being implemented in the republic, including such as “Healthcare”, “Education”, “Agroindustrial complex”, will continue to operate.
