Tatarstan President has met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Russian Federation

The President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Russian Federation, Mr. Halil Akinji, on November 7 at the Kazan Kremlin.

At the meeting, the parties discussed further development of Tatarstan-Turkish cooperation, as well as expansion of cooperation in the spheres of culture, education and tourism, the course of conducting events in the framework of the Year of Turkish culture in Russia.

Present at the meeting were RT Prime-minister Rustam Minnikhanov, RT Deputy Prime-minister - Minister of culture Zilya Valeyeva, State Adviser to the RT President on international issues - Director of the Department of foreign affairs Timur Akulov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin. Mr. Ahmet Ergin, the General Consul of the Republic of Turkey in Kazan, also took part in the meeting.
