Tatarstan Government and Tatarstan municipal districts sign agreements

Agreements between Tatarstan Government and the republican municipal districts for 2009 were signed on March 19 at Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers. Tatarstan Premier Rustam Minnikhanov and heads of the republican municipal formations signed the documents.

The subject of the first agreement is the estimated indices of assessing efficiency of local government’s activities for improving life standard.

The subject of the second agreement is achieving the indices which reflect local government’s measures for overcoming the world financial crisis.

At the ceremony of signing the documents, Rustam Minnikhanov said that such agreements are signed annually in the republic. “This year we do it late than usually. It is connected with the crisis conditions, which made impact on the general situation. If we had set the task to improve citizens’ life standard before, now we set the task to retain our position. We have introduced changes in the documents taking into account the situation we are facing,” Tatarstan Prime Minister said.

According to data provided by Tatarstan Minister of Economy, Marat Safiullin, leaders in fulfilling the life standard indices are Kazan and Naberezhniye Chelny, and also Almetyevsk, Buinsk and Saba municipal districts. Contribution of these municipal formations to industrial production of the republic totaled over 60 per cent, equity contribution in the economy – over 50 per cent.
