Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev has met with Saxon Prime-minister Stanislaw Tillich

The meeting of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, and the Prime-minister of the Free State of Saxony, Stanislaw Tillich, was held at the Kazan Kremlin on April 24.

The parties talked about prospects of the further development of the trade and economic and humanitarian cooperation and discussed issues of larger innovative cooperation focusing on the project of setting up a German-Russian Centre of competence of machine building/manufacturing technology.

From the Saxon part Thomas Jurk, the State Minister for Economic Affairs and Labor of the Free State of Saxony, Christian Seebode, the Advisor of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany on Economic Affairs, Horst Rasch, the Deputy of the Parliament of the Free State of Saxony, Alexander zu Hohenlohe, the Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs and Labor of the Free State of Saxony, Roger Mackeldey, the Head of the Department of International Relations of the State Office of the Free State of Saxony, Hans Naumann, the President of the Competence Center for Mechanical Engineering of the Free State of Saxony, attendee the meeting. Present from the Republic of Tatarstan were Boris Pavlov, the First Deputy Prime-minister, Timur Akulov, the State Advicor to the RT President on International Issues – Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ravil Zaripov, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Akhmet Mazgarov, the President of the Academy of Sciences, Rafinat Yarullin, the Director General of Tatneftekhiminvest-holding.

On April 23rd, the guests from Germany were in Naberezhnye Chelny where they visited OAO KAMAZ and got acquainted with SEZ Alabuga. Early on April 24th, the opening of the Tatarstan_saxony Business Forum took place at the Grand Hotel Kazan, then the Saxon delegation visited the exposition of the 4th Kazan Venture Fair at the Korston Hotel.

They also visited the RT German House where the meeting with representatives of the national and cultural autonomy of Tatarstan Germans was held. Later on, Stanislaw Tillich met with students and teachers of Kazan State University.
