A meeting between the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to the Russian Federation, Martin Vukovich, was held at the Kazan Kremlin on March 16.
Larger trade and economic cooperation between Tatarstan and Austria and prospects of development of Tatarstan-Austrian relations in the cultural, scientific and educational spheres were discussed at the meeting.
Heinz Walter, a representative of the Austrian Chamber of Economy, Christian Fuchsteiner, the trade attaché of the Austrian Embassy to Russia, and representatives of Hale Electronic GmbH, Swarovski, Starlinger, Alcatel-Lucent Austria AG and m-u-t AG were present at the meeting from the Austrian side.
Tatarstan was represented by Timur Akulov, the State-Advisor to the RT President on international issues - Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the RT President, Aleksander Kogogin, the RT Trade and Industry Minister, Aidar Gainutdinov, the RT First Deputy Culture Minister, Myakzyum Salakhov, the RT State Council Deputy – Kazan State University Rector, Shamil Ageyev, the Head of the Board of the RT Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The delegation of the Republic of Austria led by Ambassador Martin Vukovich arrived in Kazan on March 15.
The Austrian-Tatarstan business contacts exchange opened on Monday, March 16 at the Korston Complex. Later, Martin Vukovich met with Tatarstan Prime-minister Rustam Minnikhanov and visited Innovative Technopark Idea.
The Austrian delegation will also visit Kazan State University and the Salikh Saidashev Grand Concert Hall where they will listen to a concert by students of Kazan State Conservatoire organized as part of the 13th Kazan Choir Assembly.
