Mintimer Shaimiev: Oil industry workers show an example to other business

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev visited community venues in Almetyevsk as part of his working trip to the republic's oil capital on February 17. RT Deputy State Council Chairman Aleksander Gusev also took part in the visit.

The head of Tatarstan attended the opening of the Sports Complex Busido. The complex offers fitness and martial at classes for children, teenagers, mother to be, people of middle and senior age.

"In Tatarstan many people go in for sports - mass and professional sports," the President said in his speech before those who gathered for the opening ceremony. "It resulted in Kazan's winning the Universiade 2013. Visitors from all over highly appreciated our sport achievements."

"Thanks to all those who build such venues. Oil industry workers provide an example to other business," Mintimer Shaimiev emphasized. "The city becomes prettier in general and in particulars."

Mintimer Shaimiev also visited the Almetyevsk College of Music. The college was opened in 1964 and bears the name of the outstanding Tatar composer Farid Yarullin. Over 44 years it prepared more than 1.5 thousand experts, among whom there are teachers of music, heads of creative collectives, actors of theatres and philarmonic societies.

Later on, Mintimer Shaimiev met with activists of the South-East of the republic. Representatives of the Almetyevsk, Bugulma, Leninogorsk, Aznakaevo, Bavly, Yutaza and Cheremshan districts of Tatarstan gathered together to meet the President.
