Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the meeting of the Universiade 2013 organizational committee

On January 16th, the Republic of Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the working meeting on preparing and conducting in Kazan the 27th World Summer Universiade. The meeting took place in the seat of the Russian Federation Government, presided by Igov Shuvalov – First deputy head of the government of the Russian Federation, chairman of the committee. Issues discussed in the course of the meeting included primary tasks related to preparing to host the World Universiade, including designing and building sports facilities, the Universiade village, approving the list of the facilities and defining principles of financing.

The meeting was attended by Russian Federation minister of economic development Elvira Nabiullina, Russian Federation minister for sports, tourism and youth affairs Vitaly Mutko, Russian Federation first deputy minister of finance Tatyana Nesterenko, Republic of Tatarstan prime-minister Rustam Minnikhanov, mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, heads of some other ministries and departments.

Mintimer Shaimiev also met with deputy head of the government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kozak on increasing current year financing for capital refurbishing of housing and communal services sector. Among other issues discussed was also purchasing automobiles needed for the Republic.

On the same day Mintimer Shaimiev met Chaiman of the Board of Sberbank German Gref, discussing issues of loans for a number of industrial enterprises of the Republic, also via the bank’s Tatarstan branch.
