President of Tatarstan met with Governor of Eastern Azerbaijan

January 15, Mintimer Shaimiev, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan met in Kazan Kremlin with the Governor of Eastern Azerbaijan province (Iran) Mr. Ahmad Alireza Beygi.

The perspectives of trade-economic cooperation as well as the issues of the development of tourism, cultural and humanitarian relations between the Tatarstan and Eastern Azerbaijan were discussed during the meeting.

The delegation of Eastern Azerbaijan province (Islamic Republic of Iran) headed by the Governor of province Mr. Ahmad Alireza Beygi arrived in Kazan on January 14. At the same day the presentation of economic potential of Tatarstan was held for Iranian guests in the "Idea" technopark.

Next day morning, with the participation of Iranian and Tatarstan’s business circles a round-table discussion was held in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the republic.

Meetings with the leaders of Tatarstan and Kazan city as well as the visits of republican enterprises and universities are also included in the program of working visit of the delegation of Eastern Azerbaijan province.
