"Rosoboronexport" is interested in development of "KAMAZ" and Kazan helicopter plant

Today almost two-hour conversation between President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev and general director of FGUP "Rosoboronexport" Sergei Chemezov took place in the Kazan Kremlin.

In the meeting held behind closed doors, the First deputy Prime Minister - RT Minister of economy and industry Boris Pavlov took part.

As Sergei Chemezov told journalists, he had informed the head of republic on results of session of the Military-industrial commission held yesterday in Moscow at the Government of the Russian Federation. There, in particular, the point was on improving quality of output made in branch. The discussed problems directly related to enterprises of Tatarstan MIC (military industrial complex) Here, big number of completing parts for special items produced by head plants in other regions is made.

Number of issues were discussed with President of Tatarstan on cooperation of "Rosoboronexport" with republic and enterprises located here. Sergei Chemezov informed that the state plans to remove duplication of the Kazan helicopter plant and Ulan - Ude aircraft plant in production of helicopters. As known, these two plants damaging each other competed at foreign markets. It is supposed, that Kazan Helicopter plant (KVZ) within the framework of JSC "United industrial corporation" “Oboronprom" receives all orders for manufacturing helicopters of "Mi" type, and Ulan - Ude aircraft plant will be reoriented on production of helicopters of "Kamov" type. So the issue of rational loading of KVZ capacities raised by leadership of Tatarstan will be settled.

Answering a question of the "Tatar-inform" agency correspondent on plans of "Rosoboronexport" regarding "KAMAZ" as its shareholder, Sergei Chemezov informed about interest of the department in successful development of a motorcar giant. Today each third export automobile "KAMAZ" is delivered abroad by channel of "Rosoboronexport", and after Kazakhstan, some more foreign armies can shortly get Kamaz armoured vehicles, Sergei Chemezov informed.
