Mintimer Shaimiev met Mongolian Ambassador to RF Luvsandandaryn Hangai

May 12, President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev received in his official residence in Kazan Kremlin Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Mongolia to the Russian Federation Mr. Luvsandandaryn Hangai.

The issues of ever more close multilateral cooperation, including economic and cultural were discussed today during the meeting. According to the republic’s head, the turnover between Tatarstan and Mongolia could have been more that it is now (at present it slightly surpasses $1 mln.). “There are all necessary conditions for it”, - underlined he. RT President has noted that certain historical and cultural affinity of Tatarstan and Mongolia is a good condition for close cooperation in historical sphere. By Mintimer Shaimiev’s words, Tatarstan and Mongolian historians and archaeologists still have to work a lot.

By the end of the meeting Mr. Hangai stated to journalists that the main purpose of his visit to Tatarstan was to hand to RT President the invitation by Head of Administration of Mongolian President to visit this Central Asian state in summer, 2006. It is worth mentioning, Mongolia celebrates two memorable historical dates this year: 840th anniversary of the great commander Chingis Khan and 800 years from the United Mongolian state formation.
