Mintimer Shaimiev took part in celebration of war veterans and workers of rear in Park of Victory

The festive meeting devoted to 61-st anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic war, was held in the Kazan Park of Victory. Veterans of war and workers of rear were congratulated by President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev.

Before the beginning of solemn action the head of republic laid a wreath to Eternal fire on avenue of Glory. In celebration of veterans took part also RT Prime Minister, Chief of RT President Administration Yury Kamaltynov, Deputy Chairman of RT State Council Alexander Gusev, deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and RT State Council , mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and other officials . Within the framework of celebratory meeting the dramatized representation took place . Songs about war, joy of Great Victory and a celebration of peace have sounded in performance of well known actors, on scenic platforms children's vocal and choreographic collectives acted also.

President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev addressed with salutatory speech to the gathered . «Dear Tatarstaners! Dear veterans of war and workers of rear! Today we are celebrating with you 61- anniversary of Great Victory over fascism in Great Patriotic war. It is day of our Glory, it is day of Memory, day of Grief, it is day of Duty and the Oath of present generation, - Mintimer Shaimiev emphasized. - we are obliged and we swear never to allow something similar, from generation to generation to bring memory of this sacred war, all those who had perished on fronts and in rear, it is day of Unification!». Day of Victory symbolizes will, stability of spirit, unity of people, ability to rise on protection of native land and to defend it, President emphasized. «So was and so will be. Glory to people - victor!», - the head of republic concluded.
