President of Tatarstan met with scientist Mirza Makhmutov celebrating his 80-years anniversary

Today President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev has received in the Kazan Kremlin full member of the Russian Academy of education and Academy of sciences of RT Mirza Makhmutov who had celebrated 80-anniversary on May 1.

Congratulating hero of the day, Mintimer Shaimiev emphasized, that this is a significant event for all multinational people of the republic. The president noted invaluable contribution to sphere of education made by the scientist known far outside republic.

«Today, in conditions of reforms, we again and again address to your works, we study your experience», - RT President emphasized. Thanks to Mirza Makhmutov education in republic has been put on rather high level, national education in conditions of big multinational country, received development, Mintimer Shaimiev noted. Many works of the scientist were devoted to problems of learning Russian language by the pupils of national schools. Having expressed gratitude on behalf of residents of republic for work for the public good, President conferred Mirza Makhmutov the award «For merits before of Tatarstan». In turn, hero of the day presented the head of republic his book «World of Islam».

Mirza Makhmutov thanked Mintimer Shaimiev for support of science in the republic, expressed gratitude to colleagues for mutual understanding. «I shall work to the extent of my forces and opportunities», - he said at the end.
