President of Tatarstan met Ambassador of Pakistan to Russia Mustafa Kamal Kazi

Today President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev has received in the Kazan Kremlin the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic Pakistan to the Russian Federation Mustafa Kamal Kazi.

At the meeting the issues of perspective cooperation between Tatarstan and Pakistan, in particular, in branch of mechanical engineering were discussed. In the beginning of 2006 launch of assembly production of JSC "KAMAZ" has taken place in the Pakistan city Karachi (official opening is planned in April - May of this year). The plans of motorcar giant - to reach production of trucks in Pakistan up to 1500-2000 units per a year.

In conversation with Ambassador Mintimer Shaimiev noted, that he is very glad to meet the representative of Pakistan, the country where the most ancient civilization has arisen. “We have a huge desire to develop cooperation with all Arabian world, and with Pakistan also”, - the President of Tatarstan noted. He also reminded that his visit to the countries of the Near East - Syria, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait has the day before yesterday finished, where the leadership of these states had manifested interest to economic potential of our republic.

In the meeting took part also the State Advisor to RT President on international affairs - Director of Department of foreign affairs of RT President Timur Akulov, the RT First Deputy Minister of trade and external economic cooperation Linar Latypov, the Deputy to General Director of JSC «Kazan Helicopters» Valeri Kartashev.
