Presentation of Tatarstan economic potential held In Kuwait

Last night, April 2, presentation of Tatarstan economic potential was staged at “Salva Sabah Al-Ahmad” centre in El-Kuwait. President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev and Kuwait Minister of Waqf and on Islamic affairs, Minister of Justice Abdulla Maatouq Al-Maatouq took part in it.

JSC “Tatneft”, innovation technopark “Idea”, special economic zone “Alabuga”, JSC “Kamaz” perspectives were presented. In the lobby RT Agency on mass communications “Tatmedia” organized photo-exhibition dedicated to the republic. Afterwards, the guests were shown a movie about major industrial companies of Tatarstan such as “Kazanorgsintez”, “Kamaz”, Chistopol watch plant, “Kazan Helicopters”, Gorbunov KAPO, “Pozis”.

Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Kuwait Azamat Kulmuhametov in his greetings, in particular, noted that Tatarstan today is a “fast and stable developing region, assigning itself ambitious tasks, including transference of all the republican life activity spheres to European standards”. That is why Tatarstan “gained international recognition as reliable and perspective partner, opened for mutually beneficial cooperation”. According to A.Kulmuhametov, much in it is Mintimer Shaimiev’s due – “one of the most authoritative regional leaders”.

Having greeted guests of the presentation, the head of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev noted that Tatarstan enjoys huge industrial potential in various sectors of economy, including oil production, oil refining, petrochemistry, mechanical engineering, aircraft and helicopters engineering, instrumentation, shipbuilding and agriculture production complex.

During his speech, Mr. Maatouq underlined that Tatarstan has always been supporting the Islamic thought and Islamic sciences. In Kazan in early XIX century appeared the 1st printed Koran. “Tatarstan is the state where a lot of the Muslims live. And this is the commonness between our countries”, - noted Abdulla Maatouq Al-Maatouq. Minister of trade and industry of Kuwait Yusef Hasan As-Zalzalya assured Mintimer Shaimiev that highly values Tatarstan, considering it a brotherly republic.
