Mintimer Shaimiev received president of NAT Eduard Sagalaev in Kazan Kremlin

Today President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev has received in the Kazan Kremlin the head of National association of TV broadcasters, a member of Public chamber of Russia Edward Sagalaev.

Beginning from 1980 Eduard Sagalayev worked as the editor-in-chief of radio station “Youth", then the editor-in-chief of youth edition of Central TV, he was the founder and the TV anchor of popular program «12-th floor», one of chiefs of the program "Vzglyad”. From 1990 to 1991 - chairman of the Union of journalists of the USSR, from 1991 to 1992 - general director of state broadcasting company "Ostankino". He was the founder and the head of Moscow independent broadcasting corporations (TV - 6 Moscow), from 1996 to 1997 - chairman of VGTRK. The national association of broadcasters - non-commercial public organization - set up in August 1995 under Eduard Sagalaev's initiative and heads of 43 TV broadcasting companies.

According to the chief of NAT at today's meeting with President of Tatarstan the issues of implementing the program for support of regional mass-media financed within the framework of the project of European Community "Tacis" were discussed. On these purposes it has been allocated about 2,5 million euro. Tatarstan became one of six regions where the given program should be realized within two nearest years. For TV reporters, top-managers of broadcasting companies, heads of mass-media the seminars, conferences, «round tables» and trainings on various themes are due to be held. Besides as informed E.Sagalaev, in conversation with the head of republic problems of regional broadcasting companies also were mentioned in view of adopting the new law on advertising, and a notorious cartoon scandal provoked by the western press.
