Mintimer Shaimiev: «Within the framework of the national project Tatarstan can provide growth and efficiency of agricultural production»

The seminar - meeting devoted to the results of work in 2005 and directions of the further development of agrarian and industrial complex of Tatarstan was held on March 11 in Alekseyevsky region of the republic. Its plenary part passed under presidency of RT President Mintimer Shaimiev.

RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov, Chairman of RT State Council Farid Mukhametshin, heads of the ministries and departments, the heads of municipal regions of the republic also took part in the meeting.

Opening the meeting, Mintimer Shaimiev noted, that for those heads of collective farms who had not assessed in time a situation, would face difficulties, some because of inability, unwillingness to make use of experience of succeeding colleagues, might remain outside of road. Today the state is going towards, strong agricultural formations, having managed to be on floating, will start developing further. To invest in lagging behind agricultural enterprises has no sense, the President emphasized.

Summing up as a whole last year results on development of agrarian and industrial complex of the republic, the RT Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture and foodstuffs Marat Akhmetov marked that it was not the best one by industrial - economic, and not especially joyful by its financial outcomes. Because of price hikes on resources consumed by a village, discrepancies of prices on grain, agro-producers have lost 1 billion roubles of profit on grain sales. The total amount of agricultural output in all categories of agricultural economy of Tatarstan has achieved 68,1 billion roubles (for comparison - Bashkortostan - 61,8; the Rostov oblast - 62,7; Krasnodar territory - over 110 billion roubles). For last years total grain harvesting has stabilized at a level 4,5 million tons. Last year for the first time in a history of the republic over 2 million tons of sugar beets were picked. The working arable land allows to maintain about 1,2 million. heads of cattle, including 460 thousand cows, 720 thousand pigs, 400 thousand sheep, and 9 million heads of fowl. As a result production of milk for a year has exceeded 1,5 million tons, and meat of cattle and poultry in alive weight made about 310 thousand tons, including 48 thousand tons of fowl on integrated poultry farms, that by 1,6 times is more than in 2003.

Not at random boosted development of animal industries is a basis of the priority national project «Development of agrarian and industrial complex». The commodity output from animal industries already now stably is yielding 60 percent of all monetary proceeds of agricultural productions. The Ministry of Agriculture and foodstuffs plans within the framework of this project to increase for two years production of milk minimum by 5 percent , and meat of cattle and poultry - by 11 percent.

With the purpose of extending availability of credit resources for solvent agricultural formations since 2006 the new republican Presidential program - "Program - 100" has started. For today JSC «Ak Bars» bank has already accepted the decision on granting credit lines almost in amount of 1 billion roubles for agricultural commodity producers.

Today the support of agrarian and industrial complex by the state is felt, the head of republic quoted the words of President of Russia Vladimir Putin: «Such republic as Tatarstan which had made much for preservation of agriculture in those difficult years and processed arable land with big effect can take advantage of those measures which are directed on supporting agriculture». Tatarstan is prepared for scale transformations, can provide growth and efficiency of agricultural production. But one must not lose time and the given opportunities, RT President emphasized.
