Tatarstan for the first time takes part in XVII International exhibition - fair "MIPIM-2006" in Cannes

"MIPIM" - is the largest and most authoritative exposition forum in Europe in sphere of the international investment activity. Participation in exhibitions "MIPIM" allows to come into extensive business contacts, to represent existing and perspective investment projects of RF regions, to attract foreign investments to the Russian market of commercial real estate.
The exhibition "MIPIM-2006" is to be held from March 14 to March 17. The exposition with general area of 17,7 thousand sq. meters is located at the Palace of Festivals of the city of Cannes. It is expected, that this year the exhibition will be visited by representatives of 67 countries of the world. Participation of more than 5,5 thousand companies is supposed, including 3,8 thousand investors and major tenants, expected number of visitors - more than 15 thousand people.
Tatarstan participates in MIPIM for the first time. The exposition of republic occupies the area of 142 sq. meters, the republic is going to present about 40 investment projects. Among them - projects on subjects: "Housing quarters and complexes, "Trade centers", "Hotel business" , "Sports and cultural - entertaining complexes", "Projects of transport infrastructure, techno-parks and many others. In particular, the State available housing under RT President presents the project "Social mortgage in Republic Tatarstan". Among initiators of projects represented at an exhibition - executive committee of municipal formation of Kazan, RT Ministry of Internal Affairs, the firm of housing construction "Fon" , JSC "Kamenergostroi"(Naberezhnye Chalny). A special attention will be given to presentation of special economic zone of industrial and production type in territory of Elabuga region and to creating infrastructure objects in Elabuga.
It is planned, that delegations from 28 subjects of the Russian Federation will take part in work of an exhibition.

On 13 March the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev accompanied by the regional Mufti Kamil Samigullin took part in the XIV Iftar of the republic organized by the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Tatarstan, the administration of the Ak Bars Arena stadium and the national tourist complex Tugan Avylym (My Native Village) at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center.

On 20 January in the evening Russian President Vladimir Putin called Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev and congratulated him with his birthday. During the conversation Vladimir Putin stated that he is happy to hear bright voice of Mintimer (Sharipovich) and wished him good health and all the best.
On 20 January, congratulating Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev with his birthday, the Chairman of the Russian Government Mikhail Mishustin wrote in his telegramme: “Being a famous and political leader, you have made a substantial contribution into modern development of Tatarstan and have earned the deep respect and gratitude of residents of the republic.
