Mintimer Shaimiev: «Republic should further seriously support business»

Speaking at the expanded board of the RT Ministry of Economy and Industry President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev designated before the gathered key priorities of developing the republican economy.

Analyzing the results achieved in 2005, Mintimer Shaimiev noted, that the economy of Tatarstan is a mirror reflection of the Russian economy because in many respects it is connected to production and oil refining. Differences consist that the republic a little bit earlier has defined with the basic priorities of development. And today, in conditions of stabilization of oil recovery, the economy of Tatarstan regarding rates of development does not concede Russian though in territories of all other country oil extracting has increased. The good potential is shown with the power branch which provided 9-percent growth of production by results of January, 2006. In connection with formation of power market, the republic has opportunity to deliver it not less than 5-6 billion watts/hours of the electric power annually. Such volume will give increasing GRP by 1 percent without essential investments. Tatarstan has power capacities and the main thing - an opportunity to provide competitiveness of our electric power. The republic is capable to provide progress of economy irrespective of inflationary processes and the further rise in price of power resources, RT President emphasized.

Projects in the field of petrochemistry start to yield concrete results, Mintimer Shaimiev continued, positive tendencies are marked in mechanical engineering - bright example to it - JSC "KAMAZ ", showing stable growth of volumes and stage by stage realizing strategy of development. The defensive enterprises recently being in a crisis condition, have received large orders and already are choosing clients. Debts under the salary in Tatarstan today - the lowest in the Volga federal district. One of criteria of success of the enterprises becomes high wages. Productions should be so effective to provide worthy incomes to the workers. «Growth of the average salary and average per capita incomes speak about stage-by-stage solution of problem of a "grey" labour market. For republican interdepartmental commission on liquidation of debts under the salary and legalization of "informal" labour market it is necessary to concentrate further all efforts in the given direction. We help people, earning well, to protect the future. It is a priority task», - Mintimer Shaimiev emphasized.
