Mintimer Shaimiev: «Competitiveness of economy begins from university bench»

President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev and Board chairman of RAO "UES of Russia" Anatoly Chubais addressed to teachers and students of the Kazan state power university.

Having thanked "UES of Russia" and JSC "Tatenergo" on which money the training laboratory premises of the university had been constructed, Mintimer Shaimiev said that not each university may brag of such a fine acquisition . In his opinion, conditions for qualitative preparation of experts which should aspire to become competitive are created. In fact the power branch is included into the market environment, and it is necessary to make its output competitive. Without it the further effective development of economy is impossible. «If we do not meet the world standards what waits our goods?» - with this question Mintimer Shaimiev has addressed to an audience. Having named energy university an elite university the head of republic called the future experts of a power supply system to correspond this mark.

Anatoly Chubais, continuing a theme of competitiveness directly declared, that «we have lagged behind on efficiency of the economy, on efficiency, on base parameters of that is in the world». But the power supply system has passed «an enormous way» to last 10-15 years from total non-payments, total barter by today when reform of a power supply system is completed. Opportunities for attraction of scale private investments for reconstruction of capacities now have appeared. In opinion of the chief power engineer of the country, there has come the stage of a unique quantum leap which should be made the nearest 10-15 years. «The power supply system becomes the big business where true experts should be working. And they yet do not suffice», - Anatoly Chubais said. He called teachers of university to train students also in new technologies which in the country for the present are not applied but behind which stands the future.

Then nominal grants of RAO "UES" and "Tatenergo" have been handed the best KSPU students.
