Mintimer Shaimiev: “I like sports, that is why can’t but watching the Olympic Games”

On February 13, President of Republic Tatarstan shared his thoughts about the winter Olympic Games that is on these days in Turin, Italy.

Head of the Republic noted that he is generally satisfied with achievements of Russian team. For today there is a golden and a silver medal in biathlon, “gold” and “bronze” in ski race, a silver medal in sledding in the bank of Russian team. “It is important if everything goes right. I think necessary measures are being taken”, - M.Shaimiev underlined. The entire world is watching the Games. Sport unites, it is popular. That is why we paid and will pay even more attention to our sports”, - President of Tatarstan stated. He also stressed that today sports exist due to sponsorships but the republic’s budget.
